Helen McVey

Helen is Chief Executive of Pendleside Hospice, delivering essential services and support to the people and communities of Pendle. With over 150 staff, and a £5mn budget, Helen is responsible for organisational strategy, beginning her 35 year career in health and social career as a Registered General Nurse and developing her strategic skill set through achieving a Masters in Hospice Leadership from Lancaster University. Helen is passionate about the need to join up health and social care agendas and support young people and adults to develop the skills to have a successful and rewarding career in health and social career – she champions careers information and guidance through her role as an Enterprise Adviser here at the College Group, and is proud that Pendleside Hospice is recognised as a Cornerstone Employer in Lancashire, working with the Careers and Enterprise Company to prepare and inspire young people for the fast-changing world of work.
